Geomagnetic/Auroral Activity for past 24 hours

Welcome to my website

Welcome to my spot on the internet - Ruru Observatory!

Ruru is the Māori name of a small owl native to New Zealand, called by Europeans the Morepork because of it's distinctive haunting whistle. Moreporks lived in the bush near my house when I was growing up, and were a distant companion to my stargazing sessions.

Ruru Observatory is also where I host data from my home-made magnetometers and sky camera to help detect when an aurora might be visible.
